Polymeric Imaging is the creation of Mr. Don Sloan, a credited pioneer of ultra-violet (UV) ink technology. In the 1970’s, he developed the first UV screen printing ink, which was marketed in the United States by KC Coatings. He then went on to start his own ink company, Midwest Coatings, which focused solely on further developing the opportunities of screen printing with UV inks.

Mr. Sloan’s first company was recognized for its leading technology and it grew with the rapidly increasing demand for UV inks. In the late 1980’s Midwest Coatings was sold to a large United Kingdom based firm as a means of further expanding the market for UV ink products in the U.S. and abroad.  Mr. Sloan oversaw the stateside operations for this corporation and made it the market leader in UV ink products.

With nearly thirty years of screen printing and ink formulary research behind him, Mr. Sloan decided to retire to the calming, sunny Florida Keys. However the thrill of deep-sea fishing and scuba diving could not compete with his true love and calling in the laboratory; so after a brief sabbatical he decided to return to the challenges and opportunities of the screen printing industry.

In 1993 he founded Polymeric Imaging to further his pursuit of UV ink technological advances. Using a wealth of hands-on-experience and research knowledge, Polymeric has introduced UV ink products for previously unacceptable, ‘solvent-only’ applications. Polymeric specializes in providing UV ink solutions for difficult printing requirements. The primary goal at Polymeric is to make printing easier. Our product offering is the direct result of customer demands.
